The Not-So-Mini Hunk

Well, here is my very large Mini Hunk (who will forever be Mini Hunk to me.) He is 2 and growing so fast. So much fun and so busy!

This pic is from the snow in GEORGIA! Yes, we have had snow twice this year. While I am not big into snow, it was good for the Mini Hunk to experience.

In additon, here is the low down on my pregnancy situation. I am around 27 weeks and due on June 2nd. It is a baby girl this time, and we are excited! Since I have returned to the land of the living (from my 6 months of "morning" sickness), I am having fun shopping for girly bedding and clothing. With less than 3 months to go, the pressure is on! :)

I'm Back!!!!!

I bet last May, some of you were wondering, "What the heck happened to that gal? She fell off the face of the cyber sphere!" Well, after suffering the death of my computer last spring, I became pregnant for the second time in the fall! Hooray!

However, I have pretty much been vomiting ever since. Although I did have the computer resuscitated, I was in no mood to blog (or do anything else for that matter.) Not hooray. But, I am now less than 3 months from baby, and I am feeling GREAT! Finally!

So, I will be checking in with you all, and I can't wait to hear how you all are doing! Please let me know!

It's that time of year again:

I am getting ready to throw everything we own into my car at 5 AM, lather sunblock on some sweet baby chub, and cram some mommy into black spandex (miracle fabric, I tell you!)....Can you guess?

We are heading out to the beach! Hooray! See you all in a week or so!

After some consideration, I have decided to start a movement to rename the hot dog to H1D1.

I am not sure if it is insulting to the pig or dog, but I am certain it offends someone, right?

Computer Envy

The Mini Hunk has been suffering from some serious computer envy these days. So, my time to email, work, and blog has been seriously limited. Even though I move him to his booster and offer his computer, he pushes it in the floor and wants no part of it. The chubby fingers (as seen in the pic) just point to my desk. He just doesn't get why please doesn't work when it comes to computers! This expression pretty much explains his attitude about the situation!



Anyway, I have missed you all! Hope to get to talk to everyone this week! Oh, and if you get a chance, stop by and visit my friend Anna. She just opened a salon, and she is super excited. So when you get a moment, send some congrats her way! :)

The Daddy, The Hero

We just had some CRAZY weather here in GA! We just got an unheard of 7 inches of snow in MARCH!! Us southerners are not prepared for this snowy weather, so the town shut down. Our trees all fell. Power outages everywhere. A big mess!

So, my husband had to get out the chainsaw to cut up all the trees that fell. (One almost hit our gas line....whew....just missed.) So, I am hacking through a sea of laundry and dishes. Meanwhile, the Mini Hunk is running around making saw noises at the top of his lungs.

We are on day 3 of saw mode. Apparently, his dad was quite impressive. I am trying to get it on video for you...I will post if I can catch it!

This is for all the moms:

~Who hold back the tears (and screams) during the colossal fit in the middle of the Sam's club.

~Who occasionally use the sleeve of their shirt to catch a little one's sneeze or runny nose.

~Who cares about the global concerns, but seems to be distracted by infant constipation, reflux, and other yuck stuff that is ruining your rug, and life in general.

~ Who far too often hears a little voice chanting "poo-poo" while you are trying to....well, you know.

~ Who just a few years ago, carried eye and lip liner, but now has emergency hand sanitizer, gummy snacks, and hemorrhoid cream. (Yeah, I said it.)

~Who sometimes thinks 7:45 PM might as well be midnight.

~Who also thinks sleeping until 8:00 AM would be equally as exciting as winning the lottery.

~Who finds a mystery substance all over the back of her pants and in her hair.....AFTER a trip to the doctor's office and grocery store.

So, if this is (or ever was) you....Happy Valentine's Day....you deserve it!

Confessions of a Photoholic

Okay, I will admit that I am a total nut when it comes to taking photos of the Mini Hunk. I have CD after CD with 200+ pictures on each. Logically, I know that I will never use all of them, but I still just can't bring myself to hit delete....even when it isn't that great of a photo. Does any other mom suffer from this dilemma?

Anyway, last Saturday was a beautiful day. I took the Mini Hunk out with camera in tow. After the photo session, we played a little while. Well, Wednesday morning (4 days later), I was up early. I decided to put some pics on my blog. I couldn't find the camera. Then, it hit me.....GASP!....I left it sitting on the back of the lawnmower. What a goof!

So, in 17 degree weather, I tromp out to the backyard at 6:45 am, and there it is. Just where I left it. And here are the pics....just as I took them. No worries the camera survived, but shhhhh! let's not tell my husband about this little fiasco. He might not find it as humorous as I do. :)

Here I Am!

Despite my long break in blogging, I have not fell off the face of the earth. Since my last post, I have been quite the traveler, but I am home at last. Hooray!!! While the Mini-Hunk is still facing some ear troubles, he does seem to be feeling better. (That translates: He is sleeping again-thank goodness!)

I am looking forward to visiting all my blogging friends, and I can't wait to see what is going on in your lives...

This last bit is a video stream I found via you tube. Last week, I was given an awesome cruise by my brother's girlfriend. She is an amazing musician, and here is a song that they wrote and performed on the boat. So sweet...(Background: she wrote this in honor of her grandfather that recently passed and joined her grandmother in heaven. Goodbye Fall!

Okay, so I worked through the entire fall, but I just couldn't move on to Christmas

So sorry about being the worst blogging buddy in the world; I really do miss everyone. Due to the economy, I am out working a good bit these days. I am okay...I think

So, I know I have been a little out of it lately, but it is with good reason. In the last month, I have: hosted around 10 book events, survived my son's 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th tooth arrivals, visited my in-laws for a week, been to the doctor (again), and survived over 16 hours in the car with a 16 month old boy.

Right now, I am off to unpack luggage, feed my husband's grandma (who is staying with us for the week), smear on some make-up, and head to a book fair.

Can I be committed for an addiction or something? I think chocolate counts, right?

Oh, and the doctor said that the Mini Hunk may have something viral, but most likely is just very spoiled....my son???? No way! HAHAHA

5 Little Blessings

I have been so busy that I feel like I am running on a motor. So, I took today for myself to slow down. After some thought, I decided to blog about 5 blessings from this week....

1. Holding my baby as long as I wanted to first thing this morning.

2. Having a husband that works hard for his family.

3. Enjoying a hot cup of tea with honey.

4. Getting to shout, scrub and wash itty bitty baby socks.

5. Having a vast overstock of Halloween candy.

It's the small stuff that really matters, right?

Secret Stories, Vol 3

Just visiting from my break to vent a bit. I have the WORST ever secret story to tell! Oh, it is terrifying. Let me start by giving you a little background...

I am a Holly Hobby sort of girl. Generic enough to be confused with others and often forgettable. While I am short enough to make ten pounds look like twenty, I am still tall enough to ride the rides at Six Flags. Oprah would say that I am "apple shaped." (Yet another reason I am peeved with her...What woman wants to be compared to fruit?) Anyway, even if I run everyday, my legs just get thin like Barbie (okay, more like Skipper)...however, the "apple" does not seem to register all the blood, sweat, and tears and firmly stays put.

Having said this, the other day I was at a family reunion. We were all talking about birth and baby nonsense, and my aunt wanders over. She asks, "Oh, Kendra, are you pregnant again?" CAN YOU BELIEVE IT? Come on! Unless some one's water breaks or is wearing a T-shirt that says "bun in the oven," you just DON'T ask!!!! So, I just said "no" and dismissed it as a comment based on what she overheard from our conversation. Sure, that must be it....

Then, about a week later in Target, I was shopping for socks for the Mini Hunk. Well, this lady just looks over and asks me, "Are you expecting?" GASP...oh the horror! Through clenched teeth, I said "no......" My strong sense of sarcasm was the only thing that helped me through. Since this lady was more of an, ummmm....lets say, watermelon shape, I almost snapped back, "Yeah, well, you are no Cindy Crawford, either." However, I just enjoyed my ugly thought and walked away. Uhhhh, depressing! I have done 100 crunches every night since...well, almost every night. :)

* Note: The aunt I am referring to is not the one you will find here...it is another aunt who obviously has poor eyesight.

Exciting News...(A break from the Mini Hunk)

For the last year, I have been doing the Usborne thing all alone...boo. I have talked to several people about it, but I just don't talk people into things very well. (I mean, it's not like I am in sales or anything...oh, wait, I am.)

Anyway, after a long year alone...I have 3 new girls working with me! Hooray, all in 1 month! So, now they are happily collecting books and money. (Undoubtedly, both the books and money are for the kids...) And I am happy as a clam having some people to talk shop with, or email about "work" (when I really should be doing laundry.)

I just thought I'd share my excitement! Have a great day!

side note: I love how blogspot says I posted this at 5 am....it makes me look like such a domestic goddess: up at 5 am, all done with chores, nothing to do but blog. HA! (It's really 8am..shhhh, don't tell.)

I Miss You!

So, this is my busy season with Usborne, and I am just running around like a crazy person. I finally stopped today after sorting 2 orders, delivering one, and going to Sam's Club (which is my LEAST favorite place in the world, I might add.)

I am EXHAUSTED, but here I am in Blogland. So, I am about to surf out to my fav gal pals and see what is happening....but before I do, here are 5 new things going on over here:

1. The Mini Hunk can now climb on the furniture. So, I am pretty sure about a TRILLION brain cells are GONE due to all the trauma. I mean, it's the furniture, it's not like I can just tuck it away in the closet. What is a mom to do?

2. The footie PJs are back! So darn cute! I love fall.

3. As you might remember, I blogged about the molar situation over here...Now, there are 3!!!! Bring on the steak dinner!

4. I lost my keys a few days ago....looked everywhere....did the whole "retrace your steps"thing....finally found them in the toy chest. That is the first time that has happened and certainly not the last.

5. Found an awesome sale at Old Navy. All Clearance items are an additional 50% off. I got some T-shirts, shorts, and pants for now and next summer for 99 cents each. I am so excited. Check it out at a store near you!

I know, I know, my life is riveting. I even had to leave out the part about eczema and my new volcano kid kit I can't wait to erupt. What can I say? My life is thrilling...:)
